Family is who you make it!

Why is it the people who are supposed to love you no matter what, can be the people who hurt you the most. The people who share your blood, the people who date you or marry you……………why are these the ones who think its ok to tear you down and continue leaving lashes of pain?

Ok let’s stop here. I have the BEST family and support system in the world, and the more I talk to other people and hear of their family dynamics I see just how blessed I am. But when you don’t have that strong loving family, know you can make your own! I have people who have come into my life that I count as family more than some actual family members. Look at the Bible……..countless times you see people choosing different people to basically make their family. I mean basically that’s what the apostles did, they became a family unit in Christ.

I wanted to touch on this today because I talk to people and hear their stories of how they are mentally abused and put down constantly by people that should be their safe spots. So with that, let me be clear…….it is OK to cut them out. The excuse of, well they are family, that don’t fly. Family don’t treat family like that. It is ok to love them, but not allow them to have a hold in your life. It is ok to know they are ok, without allowing them a seat at your table. It………is……..ok. Surround yourself with people who build you up and love you and encourage you. You are stronger than you think you are and you deserve a family that love the real you, and doesn’t make you feel less than. Come on here and chat with me, I will always be a safe spot and a place of encouragement . I am doubly blessed as I have family that is blood and family I have made………and some new that I count as family tend to keep a boot up my butt to keep me going and encouraged and I’m so thankful for that.

So I guess I just wanted to post that you are enough, you are deserving of love, and I am here for you. But more than that we have a God who loves every bit of us, flaws and all, and accepts us as we are. He tells us we are more than enough. He tells us that He will leave the other 99 to come find us lost and alone just to bring us back home. Allow Him to show you just how much He loves and how much you ARE deserving of love……because you are. Toxic people will always be in this world, but we don’t have to let them have a foot in our lives. Remember, you deserve better and you are better. Have a great Thursday!!❤️
