Meet Me

Hey world, my name is Sara. I live in Louisiana with my two crazy kiddos that are my entire world. I started this blog to first off, be an outlet for myself and my thoughts and feelings. But then I also thought, what if someone else could benefit from my experience….so here we are.

I married my husband in 2006. We lived in Arkansas for the majority of our marriage and even ended up buying our first home and starting a small farm there. Was our marriage perfect…oh far from it….but you work through problems. I was never able to conceive so in 2015 we started the journey of adoption through the state foster system and were placed with the two most precious toddlers in November of 2015. November 7, 2016 we stood before a judge and legally became a family on paper.

Let’s fast forward, October of 2024….my world changed. My husband had been having some issues and having tests run. We were called in and given the word…cancer….and it’s stage 4. I’m pretty sure my heart stopped. The oncologist said it was inoperable and all we could try was chemo. We sought other opinions and were told we had the best oncologist for the job. He fought a good fight, but 7 months latter I watched him take his last breath.

SO, I did what his last wish was….moved the kids and I back to my home state of Louisiana around my parents and other family members. We are doing ok, and this blog is going to be very therapeutic for me….and possibly someone else. Please follow along on our journey and share in my quiet thoughts.
