I recently figured out I could put the Apple Music app on my tv and stream my playlists there. So in the mornings as I get dressed, worship music can be heard blasting our of my room…I’m certain my kids believe I have lost it as I not only blast but sing quite loudly as well. But I find starting my day in worship sets the tone for the day. The other day a song had come on that I had not heard before…I have no idea when this song came out, it could be old for all I know…I just know as the lyrics flooded my room I just stopped. Stopped doing my hair, stopped doing my makeup, and just let the power of the lyrics flood me. The chorus said, “God You don’t need me, But somehow You want me! Oh how You Love me, somehow that frees me to take my hands off of my life and the way it should go!”
WOW…I was in my bathroom and had to go see what this song was that was speaking so loudly to my soul. Of coarse the next thing I did was start it over and also grabbed my phone to find it and download it to my normal play list ha. But just re-read those lyrics again….let it sink in….He does NOT need us…but oh how He WANTS us….He desires a relationship with us…wants us to let go of our own control and let Him take over…He WANTS to guide us and bless us and keep us save…not because He HAS to, but because He WANTS to….Im not sure about you…but that is not only humbling but oh what a feeling of being loved and wanted…The King of all creation WANTS me.
Satan will tell you that you are not enough, you are not worthy, no one will ever love you. He will even use people to convey this very message and beat you down mentally and spiritually. But God, the one true King, He says I WANT you…I LOVE you….I have made you worthy. You ARE enough! God doesn’t want us to get our lives right before coming to Him, no…He says come AS YOU ARE…He desires us to give Him all and He will take care of it all. Just let that set with you.
Today in my bible I was in 1 Corinthians 9. One of my favorite verses has always been 1 Corinthians 9:16 – “For if I preach the Gospel I can not boast, for I am under compulsion, woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” But keep read in and Paul tells us that we are in a spiritual race and we should train as athletes so that we can endure this race and not be disqualified, even goes on to say he beats his body and makes it his slave….what are we doing to train and stay in this race?
Yall smile, have a blessed day, and know you ARE enough because the King of heaven and earth WANTS you!
